The honest Clearbit alternative
Clearbit enriches the records you already have. Orbital sources the ones you do not.
Clearbit is now HubSpot Breeze Intelligence. It fills in a record once that record is in your CRM, and it does that well: on-arrival enrichment, a native HubSpot seat, web-visitor reveal. We do a different job. We source net-new long-tail SMB records that an enrichment tool cannot return, because they were never in its dataset to begin with.
If your buyers are companies that already sit in your funnel and you want them enriched inside HubSpot, stay with Clearbit. If your buyers are the single-shop HVAC company or the family roofing crew that never landed in a contact graph, you need a tool that maps them at the company grain.
Two different jobs
Clearbit is enrichment. Orbital is sourcing.
Clearbit and Orbital both touch B2B data, but they do opposite jobs. One fills in records you already have inside HubSpot; the other sources records that were never in a dataset. Read this before the table.
What Clearbit is
Enrichment and reveal, sold only inside HubSpot as Breeze Intelligence.
It enriches a record the moment that record enters HubSpot, reveals the company behind anonymous web traffic, and runs natively in the HubSpot seat. Basic enrichment became free with any paid HubSpot seat in Fall 2025, Pro includes about 3,000 credits a month, and extra credits run roughly $30 to $50 for 100, up to about $700 for 10,000.
Best for: teams already on HubSpot who want every record that lands in the CRM filled in automatically.
What Orbital is
A company-grain map of every US small business.
We start from Google Maps, Yelp, and Yellow Pages to build the company set, then run a 51-source agent (Better Business Bureau, corporate directories, legal filings, Dun & Bradstreet, Secretary of State, the business website, news) to find the owner. We find one about 80% of the time, then attach the custom signals you score on, per account. Emails are validated across providers; phones are validated against Twilio.
Best for: teams selling into the long-tail SMB that no profile graph or enrichment tool has on file.
The honest comparison
Eight rows. Clearbit wins three. We win five. No ties.
We name a winner in every row, and concede the ones Clearbit wins outright, up top. The rows we win sit lower, where sourcing the long-tail SMB decides the deal.
| Dimension | Orbital | Clearbit (Breeze Intelligence) | Winner |
|---|---|---|---|
| On-arrival enrichment of records you already have | Batch and API enrichment, not record-triggered | Enriches the moment a record enters HubSpot | Clearbit |
| Native HubSpot integration | Push via integration, not a HubSpot seat | Lives inside HubSpot as a native seat | Clearbit |
| Web-visitor reveal (de-anonymizing site traffic) | Not offered | Reveals the company behind anonymous traffic | Clearbit |
| Long-tail SMB at the company grain | 13,549,104 US small businesses mapped | Returns only records already in its dataset | Orbital |
| Decision-maker contacts at single-location SMB | Owner found ~80%, emails and phones validated | Thin or empty for SMBs never profiled online | Orbital |
| Local-business signals (no website, no GBP, no LinkedIn) | Mapped from Google Maps, Yelp, Yellow Pages | Profile-anchored, misses businesses with no footprint | Orbital |
| Custom per-account research signals | 51-source agent attaches signals per account | Fixed firmographic and demographic fields | Orbital |
| Works outside HubSpot | Standalone, API and export | HubSpot-only, no standalone product in 2026 | Orbital |
Methodology: Orbital figures from a curated company-grain pull, April 2026, US sourced. Clearbit / HubSpot Breeze Intelligence facts verified as of 2026-06: no standalone product in 2026, basic enrichment free with a paid HubSpot seat.
When to pick each
Two reads. Pick the job your pipeline depends on.
Pick the tool whose limits you can live with. The two do not overlap: source with Orbital, enrich with Clearbit.
Pick Clearbit if
- Your CRM is HubSpot and you want records enriched the second they arrive.
- You want to de-anonymize the companies hitting your website.
- Your buyers are mid-market and enterprise accounts that already have a clean online footprint.
Pick Orbital if
- Your buyers are single-location SMBs that no contact graph has on file.
- You need the owner's validated email and phone at a one-shop business.
- You need to source net-new accounts rather than enrich the ones you already have.

of US dental practices we track are single-location
54% run without a website. 74% have no decision-maker on LinkedIn. The shape of the long-tail SMB row a profile-built database does not have. See the dental TAM report.

82% have no LinkedIn company page. Owner-operators reachable through direct sourcing, not the LinkedIn anchor Clearbit is built around.

The argument
A record that was never in their dataset is not a record enrichment can return.
Clearbit, now Breeze Intelligence, is built to fill in records you already have. You feed it an email or a domain, and it returns firmographics, demographics, and technographics from what it has on file. That model assumes the company is already known, already profiled, already sitting in a graph somewhere. It holds for mid-market and enterprise accounts with a clean online footprint. It is the wrong shape for the long-tail SMB.
Look at the verticals. 54% of dental practices have no website. 74% have no decision-maker on LinkedIn. 82% of restaurants have no LinkedIn company page. There is nothing for an enrichment tool to enrich, because the record was never created. You cannot enrich a row that does not exist, and a bigger credit budget does not change that, because the gap is in the source data, not the seat.
Orbital is built the other way. We start from the business itself on Google Maps, Yelp, and Yellow Pages, then find the owner with the 51-source agent. So we source the row an enrichment tool cannot return. We do not enrich your existing records on arrival inside HubSpot, and we do not reveal anonymous web visitors. We win when the job is sourcing the SMB that was never in the dataset.
Questions
Before you renew with Clearbit
Is Orbital a Clearbit alternative?
For sourcing net-new long-tail SMB records, yes. For on-arrival enrichment inside HubSpot and web-visitor reveal, no. They are different jobs. Clearbit, now Breeze Intelligence, enriches records you already have. We source records that were never in a dataset.
Where does Clearbit win, honestly?
Three places. On-arrival enrichment the moment a record enters HubSpot, native HubSpot integration as a seat, and web-visitor reveal that de-anonymizes site traffic. If your buyers already have a clean online footprint and your CRM is HubSpot, those are strong reasons to stay.
Where does Orbital win?
The long-tail US SMB. We map 13,549,104 US small businesses at the company grain and find the owner about 80% of the time, including the single-location businesses with no website, no Google Business Profile, and no LinkedIn that an enrichment tool returns thin or empty.
How does pricing compare?
Clearbit is no longer sold standalone. It is bundled into HubSpot: basic enrichment is free with a paid seat, Pro includes about 3,000 credits a month, and extra Breeze credits run roughly $30 to $50 for 100 up to about $700 for 10,000. Orbital prices on the records you source, not on a HubSpot seat, so the comparison depends on the job: enriching, or sourcing.
Can I use both?
Yes, and many teams should. Source the long-tail SMB accounts with Orbital, push them into HubSpot, then let Breeze enrich and re-enrich them over time. The two tools do not overlap.
Can I get a sample?
Yes. We will send about 100 records in your vertical so you can check them against your own coverage before you decide anything.
See the records Clearbit cannot return.
Clearbit can only enrich what is already in its dataset. We will send you about 100 US small business records in your vertical, owner contact included, with no commitment. Run them against what Breeze returns for the same businesses and see how many it has on file.
